Persons already residing in Bermuda who satisfy the criteria can also apply. While the policy paper states that this change is aimed at assisting &#8220;<em>Persons who have continuously worked in Bermuda and seek to continue to make Bermuda their home<\/em>&#8220;, it does not appear that having worked (as opposed to merely having resided) in Bermuda will be a condition of acceptance, although the amending legislation remains to be seen.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of the PRC application under section 31A is also to be reduced, from $50,000 to $10,000.<\/p>\n<p>This change will be beneficial for LRT work permit holders, as well as their employers, who would no longer need to renew their work permits and pay the related fees.<\/p>\n<p>The policy paper also sets out proposed changes to assist mixed-status families, under which the following categories of people will now be eligible for PRC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Persons who were born or arrived in Bermuda at an early age and have been ordinarily resident in Bermuda;<\/li>\n<li>A divorced or unwed parent of a Bermudian child;<\/li>\n<li>Children of first- and second-generation PRC holders who have been ordinarily resident in Bermuda.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These changes will assist, amongst others, non-Bermudian parents of Bermudian children, who would otherwise have had to leave the island after their child&#8217;s 18th birthday, and second-generation PRC holders who are currently unable to pass PRC on to their children.<\/p>\n<p>The current application fee for a PRC under section 31B will remain at&nbsp;$3,150.<\/p>\n<p>The aforementioned changes are to be read in conjunction with the requirements given below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Krav og kvalifikationer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Du kan ans\u00f8ge om Permanent Resident Certificate fra 1. januar 2022, hvis:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Du har v\u00e6ret almindeligt bosiddende i Bermuda i mindst 20 \u00e5r, inklusive de to umiddelbart forud for hans ans\u00f8gning;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Du har v\u00e6ret almindeligt bosiddende i Bermuda i mindst 15 \u00e5r, inklusive de to umiddelbart forud for hans ans\u00f8gning, hvis han er en ikke-bermudisk for\u00e6lder til en s\u00f8n eller datter, der har bermudiansk status;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Du er s\u00f8n, datter eller \u00e6gtef\u00e6lle til en person, der har f\u00e5et tildelt en PRC.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Under&nbsp;<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bermudalaws.bm\/Laws\/Consolidated%20Laws\/Bermuda%20Immigration%20and%20Protection%20Act%201956.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a7 31A<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, kan du ans\u00f8ge immigrationsministeren om en PRC, hvis:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Du har v\u00e6ret undtaget fra del V af Bermuda Immigration and Protection Act 1956 i henhold til afsnit 5 i Economic Development Act 1968 i mindst 10 \u00e5r;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Du har v\u00e6ret almindeligt bosiddende i Bermuda i mindst 10 \u00e5r;
